The Army APFT BMI Calculator estimates your Body Mass...
The BMI Calculator for Kids and Teens computes Body Mass Index for children aged 2–19 and plots the result on CDC age-and-sex-specific growth charts to determine a weight-status percentile.
Unlike adult BMI, children's BMI must be compared to age-sex norms because body composition changes during growth. The percentile shows where the child stands relative to peers.
CDC categories: underweight < 5th percentile, healthy weight 5th–84th, overweight 85th–94th, obese ≥ 95th percentile.
| Category | Percentile Range | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Underweight | Below healthy range for age | |
| Healthy weight | 5th – 84th | Normal growth pattern |
| Overweight | 85th – 94th | Above healthy range |
| Obese | ≥ 95th | Significantly above healthy range |
