📋 U.S. Army Body Fat Standards (AR 600-9)

⚠️ Important Disclaimer: This calculator uses the traditional multi-site circumference-based tape test formula from Army Regulation 600-9. This method was the standard before June 2023, when the Army introduced the simplified one-site tape test. The multi-site method remains available as a confirmation test for 12 months after a failed one-site test. Results are estimates and should not replace official Army assessments. Soldiers who score 540 or higher on the ACFT with minimum 80 points per event are exempt from body fat assessments.

The Army PT body fat Calculator uses standardized formulas, typically based on circumference measurements, to estimate body fat percentage. This approach aligns with the Army’s guidelines for assessing soldiers’ fitness, ensuring the results are practical and actionable.

While the calculator provides a reliable estimate, it is important to remember that it is not a medical diagnostic tool. Variations in muscle mass, hydration, and measurement technique can influence results, so repeated assessments and complementary fitness evaluations are recommended for a complete picture.
