📋 Mid-Parental Height Method

Boys: ((Mother + Father) ÷ 2) + 6.5 cm
Girls: ((Mother + Father) ÷ 2) - 6.5 cm

Accuracy: ±8-10 cm (68% confidence interval)

Predictive height calculations are based on mid-parental height and child-specific adjustment factors. For boys, the formula typically adds 13 cm to the average of the parents’ heights; for girls, it subtracts 13 cm. The result is adjusted based on the child’s current age and growth trajectory.

For example, if a boy’s mother is 165 cm and father is 180 cm, the mid-parental height is (165 + 180)/2 = 172.5 cm. Adding 13 cm gives a predicted adult height of approximately 185.5 cm.
